According to the type of legal organization of active companies, individuals represent the largest percentage (57 %) of the business base in Bogota and the 59 municipalities of the CCB.
Between January - December 2022 in Bogota and the 59 municipalities of the CCB's jurisdiction, the total number of active companies of individuals increased by 7.4 % and the number of companies increased by 4.8 % compared to the same period of 2021.
Description
A company can be created as an individual or legal entity: the individual is one that exercises this activity in a habitual and professional manner in a personal capacity and assumes all the rights and obligations of the commercial activity it exercises, while the legal entity or company is a fictitious person capable of exercising rights and contracting obligations, and of being represented judicially and extra-judicially. It is classified into: Limited Liability Company, Sole Proprietorship, Corporation, Limited Partnership, Limited Partnership, Limited Joint Stock Company, Simplified Joint Stock Company and Worker's Associative Company.
